BREAKING: A few minutes ago, a vehicle of three people was rammed by a truck belonging to federal immigration authorities in Boyle Heights, CA. According to security footage shown to me, they deployed chemical munitions & detained the driver at gunpoint. All are US citizens according to the wife.

Solidarity with every NEH employee who is part of the Reduction in Force, and whose separation from the agency is being enacted today.
We guess that Monday miracle for #NEH employees won't be happening after all. Tomorrow over 100 staff and public servants of the #humanities will be terminated from their positions. It's heartbreaking and so completely unnecessary.
We know we’ve been more quiet on here lately. We’re hoping for a Monday miracle today, friends. We know so many of you are as well (for various reasons).

I know it wouldn’t fix all consumer hostility but a right to an analog life would be such an improvement. So much of this hostility is mediated through technology and it’s constant churn of updates and “enhancements”
An example of what I mean when I say everyday consumer interactions for basic needs are hostile.

Greyhound moved to this policy in 2020 bc the AP proved there was not in fact a fed policy requiring them to let ICE on board as they had been claiming. And they had to pay like $2.2MM in restitution. Don't get me wrong, I’m glad the policy changed but they’re not, like, leading the resistance.
