Hey, everyone!

Here are some of my favorite online markets to use instead of Amazon:

etrailer.com - DIY products, RV focused
bhphotovideo.com - Tech products, Jewish owned
chewy.com - everything pets, including prescriptions
bookshop.org - buy books, support local bookstores

In light of Trump II’s first 18 days of mayhem — including his and Musk’s coup against our system of government — many are asking: “What can I do now?”

Here’s a revised and expanded list, in rough order of importance.

Like you, I’m finding space grieve, and to hope, and to prepare for all of the work we must do together. In the meantime, we will continue to promote creativity, diversity, and love, and strive to curate a space that makes you feel safe, and hopeful, and yes... JOYFUL. <3 Dana

If you’re feeling distressed right now, that is absolutely valid.

One thing that helped me feel more grounded was cracking open some history & learning what those who came before us did in worse conditions, with less, & still won.

Learning from them will be key. Today is a good day for that.

Those of you who have recently joined Bluesky… have you abandoned the other apps? Or do you have thoughts or plans for that? What about those of you who advertise for your small business on other apps?

And if you don’t have a local bookstore, use bookshop.org!
A reminder - don't use Amazon, but go to bookshops, which play a far more vital role in promoting literacy just by simply making books more visible, and allow you to find things by chance rather than by what the algorithm decides.

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.
