On Monday, the reassessment committee held its final hearing of a series of meetings focused on examining Delaware’s recent statewide property reassessment.

The hearing focused on public education and included presentations from school districts, education professionals, and education advocates.

SB 174, signed by Governor Meyer and sponsored by Rep. Williams and Sen. Poore, sets up a public registry of animal abusers and requires shelters to check it before allowing an adoption.

On Monday, two critical pieces of legislation (HB 119 and SB 80) aimed at protecting Delawareans’ right to free speech and access to information were signed into law. 

Together, these laws ensure that Delawareans are free to express themselves, while also making clear boundaries around hate speech.
