In 1947, a proposal was made to extend the existing MBTA rapid transit network in Greater Boston to “give speedy electric-train service to the surrounding 29 cities and towns largely populated by Boston workers.” Massive federal highway expansion in the 1960s shelved the plans.

SAT was a nice surprise: Riverwalk was touristy but still fun and interesting, downtown architecture reminds me of New Orleans but more dense, and a direct flight BOS to SAT on DL is 🍒 on top.

Now that’s a cycle I want to be a part of…🚲
“When you require a bunch of parking the market doesn’t want, it just adds to the cost of development.”

Less parking means more and denser housing, which in turn means less need to drive — thus reducing demand for parking.
What Happens When There Are Fewer Spaces to Park?
Hundreds of cities have cut back parking requirements for real estate projects. That’s led to more housing development, but it has also resulted in backlash from residents.

I mean, the orange de-icing fluid does go well with the United blue. Thankful for all the airport ops and airline teams working this weekend.
