Just to really put a very fine point on it. As we note on this chart, 75 feet is less than the wingspan of this CRJ700.

Today, the newest Boeing 787-9 for Lufthansa arrived in Frankfurt from Everett.
D-ABPU is the first of six aircraft to wear the - very blue - "100 years" special livery.

Finally, a major airline has set up a real account here--using its domain name for its handle, with a complete profile. (Southwest has a blank account.) Welcome aboard, @united.com!

FYI, no need to DM United on X; the chat function in UA's app has worked well enough in my experience.

My elder millennial tip of the day: get large print books out of the library.

Then you don’t have to wear reading glasses.

What a joy to support United’s first Fantasy Flight at my hometown airport of TPA!

We flew some very deserving kiddos to the North Pole for a big ol holiday celebration.

Will’s report is a must read (I will admit I haven’t gotten through it yet, as this tragic crash is still extremely emotional and personal to me).

This is an important story that needs to be told so this never, ever happens again.
For the last few months, I've been working on a story about January's crash near Washington, D.C. What I learned was that it was simply an accident waiting to happen.

Special Report: The night everything at DCA finally went wrong
D.C. midair crash was the result of a complete collapse of the protections designed to keep aviation safe — and the institutions that design and maintain them

I know a lot of you were wondering how the new United app live boarding feature compared to real life (*cough* @airlineflyer.net)

As you can see from my extremely bad photography (my thumb covering my PNR), it was correct for my flight today!

Wow, Delta President Glen Hauenstein, a legend in the airline industry who shaped Delta into what it is today, will retire on Feb. 28, 2026.

Joe Esposito will be promoted to commercial chief and oversee much of Hauenstein’s purview.

Almost 16 years to the day since the first flight of the 787 Dreamliner, Boeing has finally flown an all-new commercial aircraft — this one with four passenger seats and no pilot.

A bigger take from @theaircurrent.com on what this milestone means for the 797. Spoiler: A lot.

American Airlines will begin renovating one of the OG US Airways Clubs above Concourse D (formerly the northern most pier) at #DCA in early 2026.

And yes, the renovated Admirals Club will feature another fire place.

Happy sweet 16 to the Boeing 787.

Today's aviation photos of the day are all from the first few months of the program, in 2009 and early 2010.

And saw this baller sunset.

William Goldman:

“Got a phone call from Rob Reiner three years after Princess Bride came out. In despair. He had just that night figured out where he should have placed the camera in a scene to make it better. Nuts? Sure. But a lot of phone calls like that get made.”
