Pik Chan and Cheong Yin Ho have worked together for nearly two decades. They start each shift the same way: Sharing a home-cooked meal, side-by-side. “It’s rare to meet someone you can work with for 16 years,” Pik said.

This has turned into an amazing thread of avgeekery
Ok avgeeks…. Let’s play a game. Admit something you are embarrassed to admit you don’t know about aviation and our hive mind will answer it.

I will go first: I have no idea what fly-by-wire actually means.

"You can't put a price tag on life," NTSB chair says to a Senate cmte. Yet, as @theaircurrent.com the FAA has been forced to for years as it conducts safety rulemaking.

The FAA’s decades-long struggle to put a price on aviation safety
The agency’s requirement to conduct a benefit-cost analysis on major new rules favors tangible economic impact over potential improvements to safety

Had a chance to see ZA004 off this morning from BFI on her final flight to retirement. This 787 has seen a thing or two. What a journey.

In October 2024 Elliot Management put five representatives on the Southwest Airlines Board of Directors. Today two of those (David Kush, Gregg Saretsky) announced their intention to step down on 23 Feb. Their seats will not be filled.

Unpopular opinion:

I think a premium economy seat on an E175 is one of the best narrow body rides in the sky.

I would put it up there with the 321neo.

Ample leg room and shoulder room. Nicely sized windows. 10/10 would E175 again.
