Trump says prices are down--way down!--since he took office. The only specific citation he gives is Walmart's Thanksgiving Dinner package, compared to last year.

Let's look at this.

2024 cost: $52
2025 cost: $39.92 (wha?? is Trump not lying?)

Follow Jacob if you don’t already.

Will our journalists figure out how to cover an openly fascist administration…or boil us all to death?
- Media rarely puts stories in larger context
- Media has surrendered to liars
- No story seems more important than any other.

#NoFascistUSA
That old metaphor about the frog and the boiling water isn’t true: If you put a frog in a pot of water and slowly raise the heat, the frog will jump out before it gets boiled to death.
The question now is whether American journalists are smarter than frogs.

Wow: Per Hamdi's legal team, his only charge was a visa overstay — after Trump revoked his visa.

Despite DHS tweeting that Hamdi supported terrorism, they never charged him with any criminality.

In other words: Trump revoked a journalist's visa, so agents could arrest him for overstaying his visa.
NEW: British journalist Sami Hamdi is being released from US detention.

Trump administration agents detained him two weeks ago at the San Francisco airport — hours after he addressed an event, where he urged US leaders to take an “America First” approach rather than “Israel First.”

I got back to my office after the vote last night and recorded this. There's no way to sugarcoat what happened. And my fear is that Trump gets stronger, not weaker, because of this acquiescence. I'm angry - like you. But I choose to keep fighting.

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

Brilliant.

“I want you to understand, regardless of your politics, the historical danger of a secret police. What happens when a militia is deployed in our neighborhoods and against our own people. Left unchecked their mandate will grow…”

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Poll after poll is going to show Democrats hating Democratic Party, and Corporate Media is going to read them and declare that Democrats need to moderate.

I don’t care if Schumer voted no. If he’s unable to wrangle the caucus, he’s not an effective leader. I’ll continue to push for the caucus to elect a new one.
November 10, 2025 at 5:38 AM
the thing that upsets me about this the most is that Dems had all the momentum, republicans were reeling, and we were getting intra-GOP fighting over the filibuster, all while voters were blaming republicans for their incompetence

this destroys all of this. just a total gut punch

@schiff.senate.gov @padilla.senate.gov @democrats.senate.gov
I don’t think you all realize the wrath you will cause among Democratic stalwarts if you vote to open govt WITHOUT HAVING EXTRICATED ANYTHING. Lifelong Dem here.

I will not vote for anyone not screaming from the rafters to denounce this.
No health care, no deal.

@schiff.senate.gov @padilla.senate.gov Neither taking phone msgs from constituents—why?

DO NOT CAVE.
- Not even a week since voters roundly rejected GOP/Trump on econ & healthcare
- Public blaming GOP—NOT Dems
- Deal gives you NOTHING!
- ZERO rationale for caving

If you cave it pisses DEMS off!!
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

It would be ridiculous for Dems to cave now, and accept merely a promise to schedule a vote on ACA subsidy extension.

This is a remarkable piece by a senior judge* with decades of experience. One almost never hears judges speak publicly in this register. To hear it now shows how dire things are.

* this resignation does not create a vacancy; the vacancy was filled in 2013 when Judge Wolf took senior status.
A leading federal judge quits in protest of Trump's corruption-- & to fight it

Wow

“Dems didn’t cave here. What they did was leverage the win we gave them on Tues to redefine what is going on w/the shutdown & get closer to a place where Americans say ‘We like health insurance AND we’d like the govt to reopen.’ Those things can’t happen as long as Rs take marching orders from DJT.”
Democrats didn’t cave. They boxed republicans in and made them own the shutdown. Watch.

Just a fabulous thread chronicling Judge Sara Ellis’s detailed ruling against Trump’s DOJ/DHS/ICE and its anti-democratic, unconstitutional, fascist, lie-ridden response to peaceful protesters exercising their 1A rights. #NoFascistUSA
Ellis is done. The preliminary injunction has been entered.

Ellis grants plaintiff's request to certify the lawsuit as a class action, which means it applies to more than just the named plaintiffs and includes all nonviolent protestors as well as those engaged in news gathering & religious practice
