Passionate symphony lover. Other music is good too.
I really like the music of hers I've heard so far. The Fritiof Suite is lovely.

I got a strange sense of déjà vu listening to this one.

This reminds me that Alban Berg was a confirmed petrolhead, too! Unfortunately, I can’t find any reference to this on album covers of his music.

So did I, and this even better. Apart from beautiful playing and top-notch sound, Järvi is imaginative and subtle, with tempi both faster & slower than the norm that had me concentrating afresh on familiar music as if hearing it anew. Which is what you want a new recording of core rep to do.

"Death, where is thy sting? Hell,
Proud hell, where is thy victory?"

Once again Schubert makes something wonderful out of next to nothing.

They're not eyeballs, honestly.

Cheap, but surprisingly effective. I had a LOT of fun watching it, and its 70s period feel is very strong.

It was Arthur Kennedy who played the cop, but that's the one. The topless woman didn't even get her name in the credits!

I'm sure your neighbours would love the Leningrad at full blast.

I'm out on the bike now, and it's getting a bit Alfred Hitchcock.
