The one. The only. The greatest. David Lynch showed us what cinema was and how to feel it. Rest in peace, coffee and cherry pie. I'll be crying in my weird dreams.

Moore: "Elections that decide the fate of millions are conducted in an atmosphere more suited to evictions on I’m a Celebrity …, in which contestants who are insufficiently amusing are removed from office. Saleability, not substance, is the issue."
Alan Moore: fandom is “wonderful” & necessary but also a “blight that poisons the society surrounding it with its mean-spirited obsessions and ridiculous, unearned sense of entitlement. Perhaps this statement still requires some breaking down.”
Here is where he does it—it’s brilliant and correct
‘Fandom has toxified the world’: Watchmen author Alan Moore on superheroes, Comicsgate and Trump
Enthusiasm can be a productive force for good, but our culture has rapidly become a fan-based landscape that the rest of us are merely living in

I just can't find the words to express my visceral fear of a second Trump administration.

Outlets will mention Downton Abbey and Harry Potter in the headlines and leave Gosford Park (2001) for the last paragraph. I get it, obviously. But it's perhaps the closest a non-Agatha Christie story will get to Christie's brilliance. And Dame Maggie Smith is the heart of the film. Don't miss out.

One of the greatest. It was an honor to grow up with your work, ma'am. Gosford Park remains my favorite. British cinema will never be the same.
LONDON (AP) — Publicist says Maggie Smith, acting great known to millions from Harry Potter and 'Downton Abbey,' has died at age 89.
