This is one of the MAJOR reasons I ended up moving to Bluesky.
I deeply hated that porn artists were consistently shadowbanned on the other platform, whether or not they tagged their content to avoid being flagged. I end up not being able to find art or artists either bc they left or they r banned.

If you're not an artist but you followed a nsfw artist over to bsky, use that feedback form to tell bsky that. Remind them they're opening a traffic and funding sinkhole that extends well beyond the "icky" creators they want to get rid of

This is exactly the kind of thing that can literally kill a publisher. Unpaid invoices, and stock held hostage. All done with the knowledge that few publishers can afford the time and money it would require to get this in front of a judge.

I cannot stress enough that you not only need to unsubscribe from the Times, you need to stop reading it (and all Times properties yes that includes cooking) and stop linking to it. Given how often they yoink other people's reporting there's almost ALWAYS an alternative source lol.
NEW: NYT Executive Editor Joe Kahn spoke about the Mamdani article at his daily meeting with top editors this morning, praising both the story and the reporting process, a Times source tells me. He also praised Assistant Managing Editor Pat Healy’s explanation of the situation that he posted on X.

it is wild how many non-trans people seem to be taking an issue with this extremely correct thread: transphobia was an extreme minority position that was isolated to fringe reactionary christian conservatives, but through "liberal" publications laundering bigoted talking points it became accepted
There was an elite consensus against transphobia so strong Texas’ Republican Speaker of the House Joe Straus refused to pass a transphobic law, the public broadly agreed, and then a few elite liberals took it upon themselves to make transphobia popular and more or less succeeded.
