i stand by this statement every year
tonight on the eve of Prime 4 I am certainly excited and fully expect to enjoy the game
but I fear there are a lot of people who are going to have hype backlash having built this up over waiting for so long
I can understand that a bit, but also in the interim there have been tons of amazing games

slightly annoyed at myself for buying a Switch 2 like a week before the sale but oh well

I've been jumping around a bunch of games recently, mostly RPGs which are almost always enjoyable but also it's rough having it as a fav genre just due to length
Prime 4 will be a nice break from that and I'll finish it 100% before year's end
really I just need to manage my time when I have it

the secret sauce Magic has is that cards tell stories, not just over multiple but even the most innocuous common can do it self-contained in a single card
and none of the other big card games really do that, so while they might have great gameplay none will ever dethrone Magic as my favorite

finished Z-A on Switch 1, overall not bad, but still held back by the things that Pokemon has been lacking for a long time now
I also felt that the new characters didn't really all get full arcs but I haven't yet finished the postgame so maybe that'll change a little more

i don't feel like magic set surveys usually have this question and i don't appreciate the implication that content creators, who do so so much for the game, are possibly to blame for a bad set's poor performance. 👎
