it's so weird because despite being super into anime I somehow never got into fanfics so I didn't get that kind of immersion into fandom until legit 5 years ago! so I can understand how that would help build the attachment for sure.

Yeah I remember trying to read the first book and not feeling it. The movies were pretty entertaining at first (I esp liked the music), but I don’t think I even watched all either 🤔 I think also as a POC, I didn’t rlly see myself in the story, and couldn’t relate to many things idk 🤷‍♀️

😭 I never even got into that either!! I was into Twilight for a bit until I hated that too, but I think everything I was reading had girl main characters 🤣 though I do hear Percy Jackson is really good 🙂‍↕️

And maybe I'm being overly defensive—I don't like to think him infallible—but it seems to me that, like many others, the writers also see him as a sort of avenue for Viktor's character growth, and not necessarily as his own self-actualized person.

Anyway, I'm gonna stop thinking about the AMA.
