You do realize we've never had presidents threaten to wipe blue OR red states off the map, and if you support a president who does whether their politics line up with yours or not—you're kind of a sh*tty human being and a lousy American, right?

Maddow: I think it is a bad mistake to let Joy Reid walk out the door. It is also unnerving to see that on a network where we've got two nonwhite hosts in primetime, both of our nonwhite hosts in primetime are losing their shows, as is Katie Phang on the weekend. I do not defend it.

When I warned repeatedly that Trump intended to go after the free press in a 2nd term I wasn’t just talking about things like jailing journalists who refuse to reveal leakers or FCC harassment. I was talking about things like this. But they didn’t think it would happen to them.

A rapid first hello from Brittany, France. Feeling grateful that we are semi-retired in this country right now, not our other passport countries -- USA, UK, and Australia. France is very sane in the greater scheme of things.
