The PDB anticipates that it will run out of all 4-character PDB IDs by 2029! 🤯Anticipating this, we are planning for a PDB ID with an extended length and prepending “PDB” - e.g. "1abc" will become "pdb_00001abc"

232 new entries in #PDBrelease (pdbe.org/latest)! Here is the cryo-EM derived structure of the bacteriophage 80α capsid containing DNA that infect 𝑆. 𝑎𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑢𝑠 (pdbe.org/8vd4). Such structures provide understanding about capsid assembly and DNA packaging.
