I feel more and more sure that the fight for a better world is won or lost in the fight to define prestige. Hierarchy is here to stay; the job is to constantly decimate it and then ensure that, whatever inevitably survives, it exalts YOUR values.

Thinking about how strategically insisting on your powerlessness is critical to thwarting evil people with evil designs on you, whether that's law enforcement or your abusive partner. Getting you to believe that you have control over something you don't is how they get what they want out of you.

1) I am too culturally uneducated to fully appreciate it, but that was fantastic.

I’ve heard some stories recently of people complying with fascists’ demands after they were threatened.
As a violence researcher (and someone who has received a good deal of threats), everyone should know that complying will not save you. It only teaches the threatener that threats work.

After comparing notes with friends I think the Lincoln Heights (Cincinnati) routing of the Nazis was immaculate counter-propaganda and it is crucial that these fuckers be denied recruitment footage wherever they go.
