Welp, decided to check this out. The reviews say its base building and crafting are top notch, so you know where to send the rescue party if you never see me again...😆

I don't know what it is about this style of pasta that I like so much. I will happily eat everything the no-carb folks don't want. 😆

You've gotta check in on your fresh raspberry hookup during the off season so they don't forget about you come autumn. (or if you just like having friends, that often also works I suppose)

Tableside display cooking/serving with a molcajete makes me want to do a side by side comparison between spices prepped with a mortal and pestle, and those with a spice grinder. Either way, it certainly makes for a much nicer show!

This is always a good sign 😊

The burgers/sandwiches were, of course, banging, for just $5-6. Onion rings were handmade.

This whole place was straight out of the 70s-80s, and they had the music to match.

It wasn't called Shangri-La, but it probably should have been. 😋

Correct! The Conan O'Brien version will always be my actual favorite.

If you put too much fresh garlic in your tzatziki sauce, don't worry. It will let you know in no uncertain terms when you try to use it the following day. 🙂 🍽️ 🍜

"The world's longest grain". I don't know if it's actually the longest, but after cooking these grains are indeed significantly longer than the standard strain. They look pretty much exactly the same before cooking, though, which is kind of fun. 🍽️ 🍜

I'm interested in Wanderstop - it has great reviews - but seems like it may be a fast (10 hrs?) playthrough with not much replay value...hmm...maybe wait for a Steam sale?

Yup. I'm a fish person, so good old sardines in a tin suits me just fine. Also happens to be some of the most affordably priced protein available:

For power/water outages at home, I have a butane burner like this that's available in many Asian supermarkets for less than $50. A cooler for frozen items, some dry pasta, 5 gallon water containers, etc. I'm no serious prepper, but I have enough basics to survive for many weeks at least. 🍽️ 🍜

They've been trying to market Bull-Dog brown sauce as something other than just for tonkatsu (which usually is made from pork), and I really don't mind it at all on fish. I probably like lime juice and sriracha better, but for variety it's not bad. About $5 for 300ml bottle. 🍽️ 🍜

Found horchata on tap (with the fountain drinks) at a 7-11. Twice the quantity at half the price of the aguas frescas you find in proper restaurants, and tastes pretty much identical. That's a win win for me. 🍽️ 🍜

This oil painting by Henry Fuseli was not, in fact, originally titled "Monday".

Liquidated all my stocks 2 months ago and moved them to something much more stable and long-term. Anyway... it's Friday! Again. 🍸 📈

Vitamin C in 100g of:

Red bell peppers (raw) = 190mg (about 200% of daily required amount)

Tangerine/mandarin orange = 26mg (25% daily required)

Which do you prefer, though?

The "Greek Gyro" from Arby's (US ~$6) is actually a decent, no frills gyro at a price point that's less than most burgers. If you live in a Greek food desert, this is a not-half-bad option. 🍽️

La Molienda mazapan candies are 100x better than the much more popular de la Rosa brand. Mainly because de la Rosa uses no binder and the candies turn to dust when you unwrap them. The fudge-like texture of la Molienda is so much easier. Overall flavor is basically the same.
