Back lifting weights again last night, starting with squats. And oh my god the DOMS has caught up with me.

Everything is complicated by the fact that my heels are being a bit of a bitch right now. Stiffness in one and nerve flashes in the other.

Nerve flares in my legs and feet today and a horrid pain in my side and into my back means painkillers and bed today. I fecking hate losing my weekend days to my bloody body.

Watched Starfleet Academy yesterday (2 eps) and the overwhelming impression is that Ake is a bi neurodivergent, and the series is gonna annoy me if it keeps focusing on Mir’s drama. And Thok is amazing! I love that Kling’hadar!

So a word appeared in my inbox today and I weirdly kinda love it. A Deminar - half demo session, half seminar Q&A. This kinda fits with what I do regularly. :)

Hi perhaps you would like a little break from the news in the form of an essay about my trip to Centralia, Pennsylvania, the town that’s been on fire since 1962—a place where surprisingly I found a great deal of hope, wonder, and mystery.
The Rebirth of Pennsylvania’s Infamous Burning Town
Sixty years into the fire that left the town condemned, Centralia is now a haven for wild plants and butterflies.

Watching doc about resilience that reaffirms many changes I made last few years to my mental outlook (I read a LOT of brain books). Brains are hallucination engines. If the story is the world is shit, everything is fucked, brain reframes every interaction this way. It impacts behavior; shuts us down

This poster is one of the best on here and I’m so sad we’re losing her because of the appalling harassment she has been subjected to. Of course she must look after herself. And the rest of us need to do whatever we can to challenge and change this cruel, sick, dangerous, culture.
I‘m discontinuing my social media use for the foreseeable future and I want to explain why.

I woke up in the new year to discover that some guy on here had saved photos I took on New Year’s Eve and used Grok to remove my clothes. I know this because he showed me.

Every penny, every licensed item from the Scottish Bigot means another tranche of funding for trans-exclusionary policies, lawsuits & other hateful ventures. I loved HP but now I cannot & will not support that hateful bigot. Its not possible to divorce creator and work when it actively hurts people.

Stupid head... After mumble days that's getting closer to 30 days than I'd truly like, I took the heavy duty painkillers last night. Given I have a chronic pain condition, it's surprising how much I dislike taking painkillers, but the OTC and even Rx codeine weren't working.

Watching #Watson - and I still can't understand why they have decided to have the same actor play twins. It's unnecessary. It's just adding to post production costs, and it gives no good payoff.

Apart from that, the show is... fine. It's nothing special but it's fine. Not groundbreaking though.

I hate that I get stress headaches. I really hate it. I'm on day 22 of this one. :(

Google Maps open this morning, looking at congestion. It has a new feature to shake to add a traffic report. Had to turn it off because Notts roads have more potholes than tarmac!

Today is gonna be fun :(
Pseudo-hernia = no core strength = easy to overdo things = pain
Today, I have to drive to Stanstead and then look forward to three days of travel and work away from home. Bringing back brace because well… pain!

There are things I love in my job, and there are things that I dislike.
On a good day, the good outweighs the bad.
On a bad day, the stupid eclipses the good.
I just need to keep breathing.

There’s summit wrong with me… Watching opening scene of Riot Women, and a middle-aged woman is about to unalive herself, and my brain thinks, damn that rope is the wrong one. That’s gonna feel like crap! It’s the nylon blue rough type with stringy bits. First scene did make me laugh though #bbcdrama

There’s a lot to be said for wearing a brace to support my « not a real hernia », but it fundamentally changes the way that your core functions, so lifting weights is… interesting! Deload week and I struggled :(

In an attempt to reignite a hobby, I have ordered and charged new batteries for my cameras, and installed memory cards so that I can... you know, take some pictures. :)

I'm not perfect and I don't always remember, especially when I've known people before transitions or changed their gender identification. I misgendered someone last week by accident. A friend reminded me, I updated and apologised. It's not hard. It's about respect. #InternationalPronounsDay

Okay, so on minimal prompting from my wonderful wife @arasigyrn.bsky.social I may have placed an order for replacement batteries and chargers for my DSLR cameras because I've somehow managed to displace the buggers. So honestly, I'm trying to reset my environment.
