seems very unlikely to me. I note with interest the plane was bought second hand from Saudi Arabia and recently underwent an upgrade.

also, there are plenty of text to speech tools that just record and don't analyze and they've existed for nearly my entire life. we've got to stop allowing people to conflate direct, non-generative tools with genAI when they have a financial incentive to do so

we should not be letting any company get away with blaming AI for their failures. I'm not even sure how we got to this point. people are like "it's just a tool" okay so is a forklift and we still hold somebody responsible when it goes wrong and hurts someone. this is YOUR AI!

oh, I mean I've contacted them already. they ain't correcting shit

I've contacted both Bus Éireann and TFI to point out that their trackers and journey planners – and indeed, their route maps at bus stops – give false information to commuters, which is especially problematic for children, elders and disabled people traveling. they don't care

in other words, whether you're using Bus Éireann or TFI real time tracking / journey planning, it will always tell you that the 355 picks up and drops off at the hospital, but in fact it only does so when it goes all the way to Cahir. if it's the other, it terminates before then

in fairness though you can't expect any Irish broadcasters to have actually read the thing
November 10, 2025 at 1:51 PM
in an Irish context, the broadcasting code explicitly states fairness does not imply a need to create "artificial balance", that you don't have to give an "equal hearing" to all sides of all issues, and that giving an "equal hearing" does not make you compliant with fairness principles.
