It's definitely inconsistent whether it's tracking the person or just their badge & I can MOSTLY suspend disbelief there. But after the 2nd or 3rd time the on-screen plot involved "wait, where's [so and so from the main cast]?" and the computer INSTANTLY tells them they're gone...set alerts!

Drives me up a wall when it happens. "Computer, locate Captain Picard" "Captain Picard is not on the ship."

Ok, ignoring they've established zero privacy at the doctor, if they don't support constantly tracking EVERYONE, at least set alerts if the captain goes AWOL.

I saw someone with a reasonable theory about that once: holding up a fish is about the only situation these guys are willing/able to ask their friends to take a photo of them.

Oh yeah, the only reason I'd think otherwise is they've been talked about it for a bit & he actually theoretically has the general background of construction and how it takes time to make plans, line up the crews, order materials, etc.

I really do wonder if it's largely coincidence; these things USUALLY operate on pretty long timelines so that would presumably have been scheduled a while in advance...but I can 100% believe an angry/panicked "DO IT NOW" in response to the protests (and/or fears it might otherwise get stopped)

But without Sir Mix-a-Lot's dulcet tones, you might forget to imagine how, just outside the frame, Mona Lisa's butt is stuffed.
