I think this is a fiddler beetle, with extra zoom.
It's been rather gloomy this year light wise and a little colour stands out.

Current storms with weather warnings in Wales mean just one for me - lots of Microscope work!
A discipline I lack is the ability to ignore all the fungal by-catch of invertebrate that are either eating, living in, egg bearing nursery or feasting larvae.

I just realized that, one day I want to get a giant millipede because I think it would be a good and calm friend, but what if the moment it crosses the threshold of the house doorway it sends me into an unspeakable terror because its BIG BUG IN THE HOUSE

Just about out of days for #invertfest but that's okay, I'm just about out of invertebrate plushes. Obviously I need to make more! This is Legslegslegs the millipede. Three feet and 72 legs. :D
