It looks like oil and gas wrote the budget.

I'm at a loss for words. Well almost:
Pathetic, abysmal and suicidal come to mind.

As the saying goes, Nature Bats Last, so nature will have its final say.
I, however, still have a political voice and a vote. These Liberals aren't likely to get mine again.
Fool me once, but never twice!

I was wrong on both accounts.
So far the Carney government has been an ecological disaster, closer to Ford and Trump than to Trudeau. I feel deceived and distraught. I am seeing an utter cave-in to everything oil and gas wants, while the climate crisis worsens by the day.

When scared little boys feel compelled to lash out. Today it's rainbow crosswalks. Tomorrow it's you and me.

Absolutely. Whenever asked why I write and made documentaries, my answer was simple and consistent: "To change things. To make bad or mediocre things better."
Why else? Cause you like the sound of your own words? I think not.

It's telling that Gates is saying we should be focusing more on immediate threats to humans just as several billion such humans are being severely impacted by climate collapse.
Not those in large, air conditioned homes, with food delivery from anywhere in the world, though. You know, rich ones.

Well that rules out the Ukrainians who did so much to build his country and mine while still speaking their ethnic language at home. Oh, and the Germans, Italians, Greek, Portuguese, Polish, Dutch, Vietnamese, Koreans, Chinese and...

Did I miss the part where Frodo, Pippin and company switched over to Sauron's side?
"Let's just use the ring to crush people not like us. You know, those weird Elves and Dwarves!"
Samwise would have stood firm, though. He had backbone.

I loved that book Kate!

It all seems fine and good until, suddenly, you're the one getting stomped on by your grinning former partners in thuggery. Because fascism always turns on itself. Sometimes sooner, sometimes later. But always!

"Remember that time in 2019 when we were down to crawling through Rogers Pass?"
"He he he, of course I do. Bells were going ding, ding. Last gasp, but we made it to the charger. Boy did we drink then!"
"Good times!"
[voice from next field]
"Oh yeah, you should hear MY story!"
[general eye rolling]

Yes indeed. And I never once saw a cyclist fail to move over and allow an ambulance to pass. This red herring argument was used to opposed the "complete street" conversion of Ottawa's Main Street. "But how will emergency vehicles get by?" Answer: "Everybody moves over."

Freedom is for me, and not for you. That has always been the mantra of authoritarians, demagogues and fascists. Your speech is dangerous and seditious and must be suppressed.

Absolutely. And in her post, she is/was absolutely right. That is exactly what a certain extreme group of people began to do. So, yes, she hit the nail on the head. As usual. And Scheer is wrong, as usual.
