Hell yeah. Hold the line. This is what we need people to do.

Slow things down, don’t comply in advance so the courts have time to stop them. It’s starting to work.
Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

Sound up. 🔊

We now DEFINITELY know too much about this man to allow him near Capitol Hill!

Wow. Caroline Kennedy breaks her silence on RFK Jr in a message to Senators: “We grew up together. It’s no surprise that he keeps birds of prey as pets because Bobby himself is a predator. He enjoyed showing off by putting baby chickens & mice in a blender to feed to his hawks.”

Reminder: there is a straight uninterrupted line from the post-2020 “comedy” of Dave Chapelle to the erasure and persecution of trans folks by this administration. That’s what happens when comedy punches down; it empowers the cruel. I hope his token dead trans friend he uses as a shield is happy.

America is effectively unique in that it allows Employment at Will, which means workers can be fired for any reason or no reason (with a few exceptions). EAW is rejected elsewhere because it leads to this kind of situation, in which human lives are used to protect profit.
The fact that Amazon workers were told to keep working in these conditions is unforgivable.

I think it's important to never lose sight of the fact that there is nothing organic about the anti-trans legislation.

It's all a part of a large pys-op by Christian Nationalist groups.

There was actually backlash to early anti-trans bills🧵

The movement to hijack the SCOTUS started about 40 years ago. Those same folks are trying to replicate that on the state level.

None of us can go back in time and stop the federalist society and the rest of those ghoulish groups from being founded but we can stop their dark money now.

Trans people do not have the ability to be honorable and trans at the same time.

Like the ignorant fucks who wrote this policy even understand what honor is.
When the Trump administration first set out its transgender stance there was a fair bit of support from some UK commentators. Will thus be interesting to see the response, if any, to the move into very open prejudice (you can’t be “honourable” or honest and trans, and so can’t serve in military).

*raises hand

Because we've let the press consolidate in the hands of right wing billionaires with a vested interest in the hollowing out of informed consensus and real journalism, replaced by shallow ad-based controversy infotainment designed largely to disorient, distract, and coddle power?
How come we've left it to Teen Vogue and Rolling Stone to bring all the real heat lately, while the OpEd pages of the NYT and WaPo and half the regulars in pubs like The Atlantic have gone so far as to practically join the bad guys?
When a single billionaire can accumulate more money in 10 seconds than their employees make in one year, while workers struggle to meet the basic cost of rent and medicine, then yes, every billionaire really is a policy failure.

The United States stands for corruption and a love of evil.
Trump just called Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) a “fantastic guy”

MBS ordered the brutal murder of US-based journalist, Jamal Khashoggi

What Trump didn't mention is that MBS is funding the construction of a new Trump Tower in Serbia

This story has been ignored by most media outlets

The ONLY thing that unites all MAGA’ts is a delight in abject cruelty. There is nothing in common with MAGA’ts and basic human decency.
Trump exploded in fury at Bishop Marian Budde on Truth Social a little after midnight, calling her a "hater."

As we argue on today's pod, there is nothing MAGA despises more than appeals to common decency and humanity.

Historian here this is the difference between northern and southern churches going back to the Civil War when they split over slavery. When fundamentalists try to claim abolitionists today, nah they are sanctuary churches today that Trump has included in his mass deportation order along with schools
