It's also corrosive. There's a direct line between American work arrangements (and laws), and where America finds itself politically/socially. That line runs through the place where profit is created by workers and too much of that value is redistributed to companies.
👇🏽 — when workers at the biggest companies are forced to go on Medicaid, food stamps etc… that’s wrong.
Thank you. The age-based division is…divisive. And inaccurate.
Any pundit or reporter who is attempting to frame this anger at Sen. Schumer as a generational thing is completely missing the point. Democratic voters, regardless of age, are united in our anger at the lack of common sense leadership. This isn't about age. We all want our leaders to fight back.

No. Really. It should be.
This should be our strategy... get the ultra-wealthy to fight amongst themselves!

In case you weren’t already aware that they call you ‘feral’ when you insist on your rights.
A classic materialist reading here is that 2020 gave American tech executives their first real taste of worker militancy, and it scared them so much that they decided they needed to move into the political sphere to crush it.

America is effectively unique in that it allows Employment at Will, which means workers can be fired for any reason or no reason (with a few exceptions). EAW is rejected elsewhere because it leads to this kind of situation, in which human lives are used to protect profit.
The fact that Amazon workers were told to keep working in these conditions is unforgivable.

Unsurprisingly, it’s also a barrier to what is an otherwise achievable lifespan.

But, agreed…Americans should not be at the mercy of employers to provide healthcare.
The biggest barrier to entrepreneurship in this country is a lack of universal healthcare…

There are a number of reasons why it seems to me like the fight is more with our employers than our government, but this is an example of one. There is zero rationale for this vote, other than to undermine worker interests.
BREAKING: Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema have cast decisive votes against Biden's NLRB nominee. This means the Democrats will not secure control of the national labor regulator through 2026. These two Senators effectively handed Trump control of the board when his term begins.

There are reasons why so many Americans are feeling -- and acting as if -- democracy doesn't work for them any longer.
A coalition of business owners and organizations have filed a petition with the Missouri Supreme Court trying to overturn the minimum wage increase and paid sick leave that 58% of voters approved on the ballot in November.
