i just read something about grief from C.S. Lewis and his book, “A Grief Observed”

basically, when someone you love dies, it isn’t just them that you miss, but the parts of yourself that person brought out of you that can never be brought out again.

#OnThisDay in 1966, James Meredith was shot during his one-man March Against Fear from Memphis to Jackson MS. He survived, and the sniper was arrested. After his shooting, #MLK & others came to join the march, resuling in 4K new Black voters.

James Meredith was honored in his hometown of Kosciusko, MS. The MDAH sign celebrates this native son who helped bring Mississippians into the 20th century.
