If random mutations create a biochemical state that blocks T cells, for example through a low oxygen environment, then such pathological biochemistry may not be overcome by physiological priming. The adaptive immune system wasn’t built to counter that.

The only known physiological mechanism of immune suppression in the periphery is via Tregs. Does that mean cancer suppression is Treg-mediated? And if it’s instead biochemical, can immune priming really overcome it?

Is cancer suppression immunological or biochemical in nature? These are fundamentally different things. If it’s immunological, meaning controlled by the self–nonself discrimination model, then how does cancer tissue suppress antigen-specific immune responses?
