Still of a heist movie about stealing jewels from the Balmoral, featuring Harold Lloyd dangling from the massive clock face (the mechanism was slightly damaged during filming, which is why it's run 3 minutes fast ever since).

Yes, the GWW collection has some amazingly detailed photos of Edinburgh. This one of Leith from Calton Hill is one of my favourites. I think it's from the 1870s - there is industry where there are now tenements.

It had the obligatory and brilliant '60s/'70s concrete frieze, this one by a Scottish artist, as it turns out www.flickr.com/photos/rosse...
Happily the frieze has been saved.

Growing up in the late '70s and '80s I don't recall so many of that sort of Ladybird book. For me the "modern" world was places like the Thompson centre in Burnley (now demolished)
