Honestly, I’ve been hiding in a locker in that game for more than a decade. I think I’m gonna stay there.

One of the kindest things said about me is that nothing sticks. Even if it was about my goalkeeping.

There will be no further comment at this time.

They all allowed themselves to be vulnerable and they all played the game whole-heartedly and that made it brilliant.

I just can’t visualise it!

It's a good shout

I think it came down to Nico not being fully fit. The solution was to have Stones in at CB and step up into the middle, meaning it needed Gvardiol to sit from LB instead. As soon as both Nicos came on, it looked more stable, but still pretty toothless.

Yeah, you have to assume Nico wasn't fit for the full game, otherwise it's a big mistake not to start how they finished. They were much more stable at the end, but it was ultimately just another flavour of toothlessness.

They're obviously still building towards what the newest Guardiola-era City looks like and they're still miles away from it. Until then, you get games like today where it's not a good performance but it's not a million miles away from a good performance.

So then you get today where, on the balance of it, they were probably worth a point from the game but were toothless so couldn't get it. I didn't think this was a Villa masterclass performance like last year/the year before, I thought City forced them back a lot. But what then?
October 26, 2025 at 4:40 PM
What have you got when the chips are down? Not a lot at the moment... And is that a quality thing (in that it's not coming back because the players aren't good enough) or is that a mentality thing (in that they're still trying to build the good-vibes after last season)?

Nunes wanted a foul for the corner that led to Villa's goal. It's probably a foul, but it's not given. Gvardiol might have had a penalty for the shove in the back, but it's not given. Old City shrug that off and get on with it, but at the moment they're excuses.
