I do musicky stuff and try to make the world a better place, especially for queer kids. And in between, I snuggle with cats.

Gonna try to keep this feed on the "optimism and levity" side of things, but y'know… (gestures vaguely) …we'll see.
I wonder how much faster music students would progress—and how much healthier they would be as artists—if conservatories and music schools invested in practice rooms that were actually soundproof. 🤔

Mozart and mocha in the car at 5:30 a.m.? Must be election day.

The first rule of #caturday is, "Don't wake up the cat to wish him a happy Caturday."

This handsome fellow decided rather emphatically that he did NOT want his nails trimmed today for #caturday. (I'll spare you the details, but let's just say his expressions of displeasure resulted in a veritable survey course worth of basic first aid techniques.)

This handsome fella celebrated #caturday by successfully chasing a mouse into a no-kill trap for liberation in the back yard. (And when I say "celebrated," I mean, "looked on in bemusement as his prize was carried away to a realm outside of his control.")

Are you spending your #caturday appropriately? Grayson has doubts.

This jar contains 300 pebbles, one for each of the first 300 cases I've worked on as a Trevor Project volunteer. The work is heavy, but the team I work with is strong, and I celebrate the good we do, even as I look forward to a time when our society has made the work unnecessary. Onward to jar #2.

Jake is choosing to spend her #caturday napping. (Yes, those are also her plans for tomorrow. Your point?)

The words "troubleshoot" and "steeplechase" are inexplicably linked in my mind. So… you know. That's the kind of deck I'm playing with on any given day.

I know we're a day late for #caturday, but... I mean, c'mon. How could I not share?

Y'all. I just received an application from a perspective student who's in her teens, but was born in 2012, and it's forcing me either to surrender my faith in basic mathematics or to admit things about myself, chronologically speaking, that I'm not entirely ready to admit.

Y'all know I hate to overstate the importance of things, but I really wish restaurants could universally teach their kitchen staff to cut sandwiches, wraps, and the like ALL THE WAY THROUGH TO THE OTHER SIDE.

Those of you who don't have affectionate-but-shy cats in your home: how do you make sure YOUR shoulders are always covered in small puncture wounds? 🤔

It's a strange feeling to see your own name on an official county ballot. (Democratic friends in South Middleton 2, I'd love to have your support in this primary, even running unopposed!)

Diversify, diversify, diversify.
The secret trick to stop yourself from spiraling about something is to identify 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste, and worry about those things instead

On May 8, 1993, I came out to 300 attendees at a concert. That means I've been "out out" for 32 years—an anniversary that nearly blew past without my realizing it.

Before you come out, that decision feels terrifying. But I promise, the new normal is a wonderful thing to get bored of. 😊
