Tonight it was my great honor to be elected chairman of the Democratic Party of Craighead County. We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us, and we are facing dire, unprecedented times in America, but make no mistake-we will get through this and we will turn things around for the better.

Well, I didn’t know I was going to be on the Democratic Party of Craighead County’s parade float tonight or was themed after “A Christmas Carol”. But when someone asks you to be Scrooge (post ghosts) and you have a great Bob Cratchet & Tiny Tim to work with you don’t say no to that kind of fun.

Special education is one more area where Arkansas is at the bottom of the barrel. Arkansas Democrats are working to change that.

This is the kind of good work folks in the Democratic Party of Craighead County do. We care about our community and our neighbors, and our politics are based on that.

These are the kinds of needed reforms Democrats are working for in Arkansas-real solutions to the problems we face that Republicans are ignoring or making worse. We have a long way to go to earn the trust and support of more people here, but watch what we’re doing and what the other side does.

Just now seeing this after Thanksgiving and all I have to say is really? After all those folks went through for our country-after everything that went into the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan-someone had the audacity to write that headline?
