Yep‼️

Killing the elderly is politically convenient... They are expensive 🤬

Crippling the tax payers...

That's quite another problem ☠️

EBM 😂😂

Everyone Bullshits Mightly ♨️♨️
The result is that everything in ARIC has an asterisk next to it - because if they'll protect laughable-but-deadly bullshit like that to shield a colleague from accountability, you can't trust anything in the journal.

It also emphasizes that EBM/GRADE etc just do not cut it. Cargo cult science.
🧵 of 🧵s @ukhadds.bsky.social RE "straw man" papers, there are a bunch but IMO a lot of it comes back to the Evidence Based Medicine idea that a checklist can substitute for expertise.

The result is junk trials compiled into junk reviews and guidance, just from ignorance, hubris and cherry picking.

The depths of the perversion of science have reached a new nadir, Mark 🤬

We have always had a small element of Bullshitologists, but now it's become a professional standard ☠️☠️
Whenever I see one of these stories I am reminded that Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control is shielding a study claiming N95s interfere with breathing in pregnancy that tested subjects in the equivalent of 10 N95s at once *by mistake* (and which CAN-PCC thinks is valid).

Cosplay science.
The 3rd annual Canadian Long COVID symposium wrapped up yesterday. It was a great meeting, and I got some nice news at the end!

Noor,

We have continued to fail each other.

Bullying... Work hours.... Poor supervision... Appalling behaviour from our Colleges

An endless list of issues that have been ever present for the entirety of my almost 40 years of Public Hospital service
