The most cost-effective way to reduce child poverty is to abolish the two-child limit, which would cost £7,480 per child lifted out of poverty.

How much of an impact does the benefit cap have on labour market outcomes?

Not so much on boosting employment as you'd hope, says @aaronreeves.bsky.social . Instead it has a larger impact on pushing families deeper into economic inactivity by harming their mental health.

It's great that the Government have set up a Child Poverty Taskforce, but ~10,000 children have been dragged into poverty *because of the two-child limit* since Labour took office.
