Some people just love to be the victim. Here's my Letterboxd review of Phantom Thread. #Letterboxd #filmsky

A ★★★★ review of Phantom Thread (2017)
This film should have been called A Londoner's Guide To Grooming. Daniel Day Lewis masterfully (obviously) plays a dressmaker who meets a waitress, charms her into moving in with him and his sister an...

I had forgotten that there was a sequel to the 1976 King Kong remake. Here's my Letterboxd review of King Kong Lives. #Letterboxd #filmsky

A ★★ review of King Kong Lives (1986)
The first remake of the classic 1933 film King Kong came in 1976 and starred Jeff Bridges, Jessica Lange and Charles Grodin. It was campy and became a cult classic. The ending saw Kong climbing the Tw...

I was thinking about the movie adaptation of The Shining. It's supposed to be the story of a normal man's slow descent into madness but they cast Jack Nicholson and he just starts off batshit crazy.

Legendary Japanese actor/director/comedian tries a unique concept. Here's my Letterboxd review of Broken Rage.

A ★★ review of Broken Rage (2024)
I've never seen this concept in a film before and I still don't think I have. A hit man is captured by the police and is forced to go undercover and infiltrate a drug ring for his freedom. The movie i...

Just watched this complete gem of a movie! Here's my Letterboxd review of Dead Talents Society.

A ★★★★★ review of Dead Talents Society (2024)
Dead Talents Society is an absolutely wonderful Taiwanese horror-comedy that has elements of All About Eve, American Idol, What We Do In The Shadows, Ghost World (if Ghost World was actually about gho...

I loved this show. The theme was my ringtone for a long time.
Larry Hagman, Linda Gray and Mary Crosby seen here in the "Who Done It?" episode of "DALLAS" dir. Leonard Katzman revealing the person who pulled the trigger was Kristin, J.R.'s scheming sister-in-law and mistress who shot him in a fit of anger, which aired #OnThisDay in 1980

I'm listening to one of my rock playlists on Spotify. I have it on random and it followed a Quiet Riot song with a song by Slade. (Quiet Riot's biggest hit was a Slade cover)

The Roses is now streaming on Hulu. Here's my Letterboxd review. (Kate McKinnon is a national treasure)

A ★★★ review of The Roses (2025)
One of the problems with the original War of the Roses was that the movie's stars, Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner, were fresh off the rom-coms Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile. Nobody wa...

This show was hilarious and completely batshit insane. His character actually dies in some episodes and the next week he would be back to normal with no explanation.

I know someone who has a Honda Accord and the headlights went out. She found out it will cost $3000 to have them replaced. Modern cars are ridiculous.

Counterpoint: he stopped doing stand up because people realized he wasn't funny. The only people who would want to harm him are probably some women he dated who got sick of the smarmy, misogynistic way he treated them. Nobody from the right or the left give a shit about his politics.
Bill Maher says that, sure, ticket sales are declining and his audience isn't eager to leave the house, but he retired from stand-up because he "could get shot by the left or the right."

An affiliated company with where I work was welcoming a client and put a welcome graphic on the big lobby monitors. They used an exclamation point after his name: "WELCOME NAZ!" I think you see the problem.

Of course I had to watch the 1983 American remake of Breathless. It did not go well.

A ★½ review of Breathless (1983)

Since I really enjoyed Nouvelle Vague about Jean-Luc Godard and the making of the 1960 film Breathless, I decided to actually watch Breathless which I first and last watched when I was in my teens. Here's my Letterboxd review.

boxd.it/bKJx1D
A ★★★★ review of Breathless (1960)
Jean-Luc Godard's Breathless was part of the French New Wave of cinema in the late 50's and early 60's. Eschewing the film making of Hollywood, Godard, a film critic, put more of an emphasis on his vi...
