Got a cool shoutout!
The Sagittarius model on the cover there is by David Gian-Cursio, who has a fantastic blog post detailing how he made his 2015 model, including model downloads! I wish I had discovered this before I made my model as that would have sped things up considerably! /8

Fabio created a lot of things for Trek (and BSG, and...), including 220+ models for Eaglemoss.

He was tragically struck down by cancer at the age of 52. So I'm glad to know that he also worked on the recently-released Neb. His work lives on.

This replica of the Neb takes on a new emotional dimension for me.

I learned that they couldn't source the VFX file, so the Neb has been digitally sculpted from scratch, using his own research, by the immensely talented artist Fabio Passaro (Battlestar Galactica👇) before his death in 2022.

You know, if I were some enterprising podcaster, I’d make the case that blowing up boats supposedly carrying fentanyl puts the drug into the water. What if fish eat it? And what if we eat the fish? How much danger are we in from Trump’s fentanyl fish? (Feel free to spread this to stupid people.)

Star Wars: Squadrons was released 5 years ago today!

A wonderful game in VR. It's just a shame that the core of the game is the online mode, rather than a long - LONG - campaign like in the X-wing game series (1993-1999). Speaking of which...

Here comes an upcoming behind-the-scenes book: Battlestar Galactica: The Untold Story of the Revolutionary Drama

The plan is for this book to come out in 2028, the 50th anniversary of OG BSG and the 25th anniversary of the reboot.

Cool! I’ve played a small part in podcast preservation, I uploaded a complete set of the Sci-Fi Channel’s BSG03 commentary podcast to archive.org. Granted, most of them were included on the DVDs, but some tracks were edited for time, and there were some bonus non-commentary episodes.

I’ve got a […]

I get that Dems need to nominate an "outsider" in 2028 because everyone hates elites & no one trust institutions, but ... this cycle of electing "outsiders" who then can't get anything done, and fuel more cynicism, which leads to more "outsiders" ... is not good for progressives.
