Bucket O' Blood had one of my favorite books in stock, The Thing was playing at Kuma's Corner, and I finally tried the Ozzy burger (a ridiculous and delicious monstrosity that I will likely never have again but do not regret).

Day 2 in Chicago concludes with a visit to my favorite bookstore in town (and perhaps in the state), Bucket O' Blood Books & Records. Hadn't been in a couple of years, and it was nice to be back.

Day 2 in Chicago off to an excellent start at Kuma's Corner, my new favorite bar in the city.

Last night I returned to one of my favorite music venues on the planet, Reggie's in Chicago, and saw Professor Emeritus, CASTLE RAT, and SATAN. For the Realm!

Excellent day in Chicago so far. Soon: CASTLE RAT & SATAN.

Meta used my story "From the Dusty Mesa" (and everything else in @eddiegenerous.bsky.social's awesome gothic horror anthology HAUNTED ARE THESE HOUSES) to train its AI. Fuck Meta.

In the summer of 2023 I did a series of pencil sketches of anthropomorphized reptile pirates, most of them with accompanying biographical notes. I'm not much of an artist, but I'd like to do something more with these, maybe make a set of prints or coloring pages. I've got 8 total so far.

Took my wife out for birthday dinner in Tinley Park tonight. The bisque was the highlight, but that is in no way meant to denigrate the quality of the steak and lobster. It was just a truly exceptional soup.

Today the moon will eclipse the sun, plunging swaths of the land into a nightlike darkness, sending animals and certain weak-minded people into a confused panic.

It's also the second anniversary of my debut collection, EVERY CRAWLING, PUTRID THING. What a wonderful birthday for my hideous brood.

Don Noble is a helluva guy and a helluvan artist. He was on my hope list of cover artists from the beginning and when my publisher confirmed he'd do the cover of my debut collection I was over the moon. I love the eyes on this guy, the way his face kinda looks like my dad's somehow, the shadows....

Father-in-law took me out to check his duck boxes and we found this lovely squatter. Took these pics and left them in peace.
