It's good to get away to nature and get grounded, if only to remind yourself there are beautiful things in the world.

I don't recognize what I thought was America anymore, or maybe I was looking at it through rose-colored glasses of the era I grew up in, just after blacks were able to sit, play, and eat with white people shortly after the passing of the Civil Rights Act.

I think I coined a new word today.

𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞: the liminal, multidimensional zone of anomalous experiences and the people who explore them.

Enjoy!

The unreality of where America is heading feels like a looming iceberg. We're on this beautiful ship and see it coming. All the passengers are screaming, but the crew just smiles and nods.

Here I react to the shameful encounter between American leaders and media and the Ukrainian president. No doubt there were more, but I saw five failures on our side: of hospitality, decency, democracy, strategy, and independence. Please watch and share.

So…we watched, with multiple pauses, the video of Zelenskyy, Vance, and Putin/Trump, and it was difficult to fight the nausea welling up inside while Trump turned beet red and argued over points that Zelenskyy didn’t even bring up, because Trump is a poor listener.

We are all, veterans and citizens alike, watching the systematic weakening of our government by a new administration that lacks the safeguards, such as Gen. John Kelly, to rein in the insanity.
Opinion | America Has a Rogue President
The firing of three judge advocate generals is one more element of this administration’s attack on the rule of law.

It's the culture of Twitter that feeds off shortsighted schadenfreude, but it takes more maturity and emotional awareness to show compassion. I look at it like this. We already have the GOP feeding off division. We don't need to emulate that behavior.
We need to be the every person party.
Just saw a thread about a guy calling into cspan saying his diabetic supplies increased from 5 dollars to 80 dollars and somebody in the comments, probably multiple people but I stopped reading, replied “FAFO” and I can’t stress enough how much you need to stop doing that shit

I'm caring a lot less about UFO/UAP disclosure and a lot more about ending up in a constitutional crisis or worse.

This afternoon we're watching the PBS series, The Dictator's Playbook. It covers the dictators and fascists of the 20th Century from Mussolini through Saddam Hussein. It's well worth a watch in these troubled times.

It's only been barely one month since the inauguration and the ineffectual GOP sitting on their hands while the American government is singlehandedly dismantled is eroding any faith I had in the future of this country.

I'm not a big church person, but I am spiritual, and I am more than my physical body. I've always believed we are here for one reason only - to help each other.

What I see brewing in our country is nothing but malice, hate, and rampant ignorance.

I watched the latest Jake Barber interview and while it was more detailed, it also was more derailed by Barber and the eager-to-please-for-subscribers interviewer Jesse Michaels speaking out of their asses criticizing DEI.
Just stick to your main points, and skip the proselytizing.

The things you experience, the qualia, and the reflections of your mind upon them - these things are not you. They wash upon you like waves on the beach, but you are the awareness thereof.

You are like the infinite sky where clouds of experience float by.

Jimmy Carter helped others however he could, through the Carter Center on a large scale, and in more personal ways, like building homes with Habitat for Humanity.
It is the very least we can do for the world, to be a positive force in the universe. This is our only legacy that matters at all.

In case you're still wondering if you're living in an oligarchy, ask yourself why Luigi Mangione is being indicted on terrorism.

Now think about all the killers of multiple victims.

When a messenger blesses me, or I bless them, it occurs to me it’s the same thing, since we are all dissociations of the universal mind. But I still thank them and they still blink a thanks to me.

I mean, it’s the polite thing to do.

I’ve mostly unplugged from news. The void is nonexistent. The night before I saw Mars serenade the Moon across the night sky.
These are the moments worth watching.
