Retired. Loves cats, White Castle, and good bourbon. Hates vague "it's time to..." posts with no suggested solutions.

Porn, clothed or not, gets blocked.

News sites that hide stuff they post behind paywalls get unfollowed.
Excuse me if this sits behind a pay wall, but I just had to comment that thin isn't always better. It costs more and actually offers less in terms of battery life and camera functionality. I like the heft of my $120 Consumer Cellular Android phone that, uh, works.

How to not sound like a poorly educated red hatter, part 1:
flaunt: to brazenly show something off because you DGAF.

flout: to buck convention or go against something.

flauta: a delicious tightly rolled and deep-fried tortilla with a chicken or chorizo filling.

You can flaunt flautas at the movies, flouting the rules about bringing in your own food.

Just a thought - prople tend to move around over the course of a decade - a lot. People are born, people die, and this is why you do reappointment right after a census. Otherwise, how do you ensure approximately equal population from one district to the next? You can't.

There are way too many bears here. Why do they assume we all want to see their bloat? Blocking them seems to do no good. Sigh.

A new development in male exhibitionism on BlueSky. Very fat and topless. Save your lecture about body shaming. I don't want to see it, and the mote of these people i block, the more of it i see. And they don't like criticism. I can't even reply and tell them how disgusting they look. What say you?

I'm waiting for the recommendation that we pre-clean hotel rooms and rental cars prior to checkout.

The AI 'algorithmic audit' could be coming to hotel room checkout

AI is already influencing bills at the car rental counter. Your hotel room charges and dinner check could be next.

In my experience, if you signed on with a particular card, let's call out Delta here, you probably got ripped off. Here I am at the airport, pass in hand, and the lounge is closed to people with credit card passes. 🤬

This is not only unnecessary but stupid and disrespectful. I tell you all this - my wife is a naturalized citizen. If she goes, or even experiences 1/100th of tiis kiind of BS, I'm going back to her home country with her. Fuck this shit.

Under Trump, Uncle Sam is becoming an active investor at a scale not seen outside war or major crises
The Trump administration has shown that it's willing to buy up stakes in publicly traded companies, a level of intervention that some say is unprecedented.

I'm going to go ahead and disagree with you all re. Bill Maher. He's right more often than he is wrong and usually worth listening to, even if you disagree.

Ya think so, Captain Obvious?

The problem is, most of us cannot afford to subscribe to dozens of out-of-town newspapers to get to the news on offer from Google, Yahoo, or even BlueSky. It's the same as with streaming services, only worse.

So we're staying home for the Fourth. Aaaaand the internet is out. First, it was supposed to be fixed at 8 pm, then 11, and now 1 tomorrow morning. And I am guessing so many people got pushed to their 5G phones that it's been throttled down to 4G. So much fun.

So if I wanted to shift some assets from my traditional IRA to my Roth IRA, not only am I limited by the Medicare Part B rate bump (around $206K MAGI), but also the new 65+ tax deduction threshold, which is even lower. I guess I leave it alone and brace myself for the RMD consequences.

That was quick.

Just got an email from Social Security about the BBB and how nearly 90% of recipients will "no longer" pay taxes on their benefits. I am pretty sure the math doesn't jibe.

If you're on SS, you probably got this email, too.

I just had a thought. The reason it was so easy to get rid of the ICE "agents" at Dodger Stadium was that if any of them get arrested, they would have to take off those stupid masks and show themselves. Fucking cowards.
