All the music snobs hated The Strokes claiming they were industry plants (yes Gen Z we did it first) and I remember liking them simply because Rob Pollard gave them his seal of approval. That's all I needed man. The Strokes at their height of popularity putting them in their video was awesome too.

The Posies were one of the most slept on bands of the early 90s thrown in with Teenage Fanclub as Big Star clones and they didn't help their cause touring with Alex Chilton but nevertheless "Frosting On The Beater" is an all trimer of an album that should be on everyone's collection.

People still think HBO ruined Martin's story but the reality is if you paid attention he loved making everything what his readers would hate. I have no doubt the made the story he wanted and he buckled from the backlash. Everything in the books hit harder than HBO except this one. Still not over it.
