Wordsmith, drummer, husband, father, grandfather, friend. Mediocre at all of it. I run FanFirst Events & Influence, PR consulting for the festivals and events industry.
When I taught newswriting, I started with these words: "Writing is thinking." The writer of this headline cannot think and the result is "partial collapse." No such animal. Annoys the bejeebus out of me that an outlet such as CNN lets this go. Small thing, but credibility is built on small things.

Disgusted. That's all I can say. I'm disgusted to discover it was all for nothing.

There is no Trump without Dick Cheney. Cheney's vision of a supreme presidency and willingness to lie to achieve his darkest aims made Trump inevitable. That Dr. Frankenstein eventually denounced the monster he created does not rehabilitate his image.

We are led by that loudmouth drunk who sits at the end of every bar.

Idiot.
Trump: There's a rumor and I don't know if it's so or not—that Cuba, they don't have tylenol because they don't have the money for tylenol, and they have virtually no autism

Most major media outlets are owned by conservatives, happy to bend the knee if it makes more money, regardless of the damage to society. It will only get worse from here. It is time to build a new media ecosystem, free from gov't threat, self-funded, many voices. NYT, MSNBC isn't coming to save us.

Why in the wide, wide world of sports can't the Washington Post tell the plain truth? SSA's letter claiming taxes on Social Security were eliminated in Trump's Big Bad Boondoggle IS A LIE? Don't need experts to read the damn bill and point out that that's simply not true. 1/2

This, by god, is a proper obituary.
the Star Tribune just called me and told me they would not be publishing the obituary I wrote for my father as it is “unfair to him” and “in poor taste” so here it is and fuck the strib ✌🏻

Thoughts of a nobody from nowhere on the Iran bombing. First, it is negligent of the press not to point out above the fold and as the lede on any story that this bombing is an unconstitutional act of war unauthorized by Congress as required. 1/until I run out of gas for my gasbag...

We are in a very dangerous place, at an intersection where one path leads to dark places we all thought could never be America.

A short rant about a journalism pet peeve of mine. Today, @washingtonpost.com reported on an e coli outbreak that Trump's FDA didn't publicly disclose. FDA explained, somewhat reasonably, that because none of the affected lettuce remained on the market, there was no need to alert the public. 1/x

I like @washingtonpost.com's new bottom scrolling ticker. Keeps me up to date with all the news of 2022.

Perhaps what Hegseth's and Noem's firing-offense security lapses tell us is that it may not be the best idea to hire runway models to run the country.
NEW: Pete Hegseth’s Signal chats about pending strikes in Yemen included information from a top general’s secure messages to him, three U.S. officials with direct knowledge tell NBC News.
Info Pete Hegseth shared with wife, brother came from top general’s secure messages
Hegseth has denied the information he shared was classified, but it was given to him on a system for sensitive and classified information, sources told NBC News.

If you're a white guy like me, this hits especially hard. Our Congresswoman, Claudia Tenney, could stand up for her constituent but chooses instead to glorify the reason this woman keeps getting asked for her green card. Indefensible.
For those who say it can’t happen here-this is a MUST SEE video. This clip is one of many more to come from Saturday’s Indivisible Oswego County Town Hall. Thank you, Monica💙Thank you everyone 💙 @indivisible.org #OswegoNY #NY24 streamable.com/8sibtv

If you were deliberately trying to lose the House and Senate by historic margins, you couldn't do a better job than these clowns are doing. (And it's nice of the Republicans in the House and Senate to play along with their own destruction for a generation.)

The worst person in the world.
NEW -- President Donald Trump skipped the return of four soldiers who died in a training exercise to Dover Air Force Base Friday and instead spent $4.2 million of taxpayer money to attend a dinner for one of his business interests and to play golf.

The Nixon Rule: The cover up is worse than the crime.

The Musk/Trump Rule: The cover up is a bigger crime than the crime.

Plant corn; get corn.

Plant a sociopathic convicted felon with dreams of being a thieving king for life and a Nazi-adjacent billionaire; get, well, I think we know.

Here's what I want Dem leaders to promise: That when they retake the House in 2 years, nothing moves from Trump without major concessions that restore services and improve protections for average people. And that tax cuts are rolled back on the rich.

A very interesting vision of the Middle East in Trump's new video. This is from the 15 second mark.

Good to see the Musk team bringing the same kind of quality control that they've brought to the rest of government.

The sheer incompetence of the Musk "Admin" is baffling. During the 1st term, they had no idea what they were doing and f'd up left & right. This time, legions of smart but damaged think-tankers planned meticulously for years, put the plans in print. This is the result? KKKeystone Kops quality work.
