In 1945, the Allies understood that facism, imperial conquest and mass murder all arose from oligarchy. They went to great lengths to destroy it in Japan and build a political and economic democracy to prevent its resurgence.

Christchurch! Please email your local councillor to let them know how much our small community libraries are valued. They are not, as our mayor describes them, “just a building with some books in it.” The council is considering closing small libraries to cut costs. Please share.
