They want to excuse themselves from the responsibility of having voted for/supported a guy who was a finger-twitch away from being George Zimmerman.
And those same people are telling you that a Nazi tattoo says nothing about a man’s character.

He was clearly trash and those of us who made a lot of noise about that were shouted down.
As with Platner, the people who have appointed themselves the wonderful judges of Progressive values are weirdly unbothered by acts of racial violence, Nazi tattoos, being members of a homophobic cult, etc.

Famously, California embarrassed itself in 2008 by electing Obama in a landslide… and the very same night also outlawing gay marriage in Prop 8.

Nothing from China or Japan is going to somehow make it to Port Newark instead of PoLA.
Long Beach/LA is Asia’s gateway to North America and it’s mind boggling how dependent the country is on this one port.

Sure… but it’s not like we stopped talking about Jawas in 1977. They’re in all the new stuff. As are the Sand People.
And to be clear, I’m Jewish and the Jawa thing makes me roll my eyes more than anything. I just think it’s WAYYYY more offensive than Jar-Jar, who is at least a little heroic.

To be crystal clear: I don’t know one way or another if Lucas is racist. There’s a lot of evidence he’s not.
There’s a TON of evidence he’s a lazy writer who leans into stereotypes, though.

The thing that cracks me up the most about Jar-Jar is we had the scrubby little thieving desert folk the Jawas… and the violent nomadic tribesmen the Sand People for decades and no one made a peep.

Good thing California has been ignoring federal drug laws about pot for over a decade, but it sucks for the states who comply.
That said… this still has to get through the House.

I wrote a comic with a prolonged Phantom of the Paradise homage/satire in it and I don’t know when it’s coming out.
And believe it or not, it’s NOT an Elvira comic.
