1 year ago, I participated for the 1st time in the annual meeting of Country Radio Seminar to discuss representation in radio programming.

I reported that songs by women had declined to 9.81% by 2023--mostly for white women, w/0.02% by Black women. How do things look 1 year later?

Explications.

With a pathway toward Grammy consideration in either direction, "the most significant impact of the Recording Academy announcement is the creation of more opportunity in country music — including for Black artists.
And that’s what we’ve been fighting for all along.”

"With his raised eyebrows and slight chuckle, Shaboozey didn’t just cast doubt on country music’s century-old fiction. He also acknowledged the Black creatives who will never stand at the front of a stage or sing into a mic—but who are important, and influential." @andreawillwrite.bsky.social

It is one thing to see the insane numbers of government jobs being cut. It's another thing to read the testimonies of civil servants who were axed. Check this out. And if you've been knifed in the back, add your story: trumpcostsamerica.com

Right out of the gate this is the most cringe-worthy hosting script I’ve ever witnessed. Feel like it’s time for the CMAs to get some writers who can write something other than jokes with sexual innuendo and an undertone of sexual harassment…

Here are some of the most recent country music festivals lineups. As you see, very limited Black representation shown at all. Looks like there are zero Black women….
