Trump and his cronies have embraced the darkest strains of American consciousness to cultivate power, the next few years may very well be when that rabid dog they've been feeding comes back to bite them. Unfortunately we will all suffer the consequences.

The right wing has been cultivating a media environment where nothing and everything is true and the only thing you can know is to be afraid and angry for years. This is the fruit of their labor, "flood the zone with shit" as Steve Bannon said. This is the byproduct.

I'm increasingly and repeatedly reminded of this passage from author Derek Jensen in the intro to his book "Endgame."

Our lives don't matter to them.
