There’s a lesson here about writing in the age of weaponized lies: Always precede false claims with giant red text, ideally wrapped in a <blink> tag, that says “THIS IS A LIE I AM REFUTING!!”

But also, why is a book that makes this kind of lazy, bad-faith argumentation getting any accolades at all?

Da...

The thing to understand about all these network states is:

(1) they require a permanent underclass to do all the labor that keeps cities functional,

(2) they have no answers to how or why free people en masse would sign up to be that permanent underclass

And

(3) that’s because they want slaves.

As someone who considers myself part of the left and not exempt from this criticism I like to say: “The core competence of the left is internal division.”
“The crowd was joyous, excited and mostly over 60.” — And already feuding. Are there any good accounts of the apparent tendency for the rate of party division to rise as you move left? www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk-...

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

I mean, the coverage of the boat murders has literally been that.
'Some from the left criticized President Trump for the shooting. But it is not yet clear whether the killing violates a law prohibiting murder.'
New York Times reports that it is unclear whether having a federal agency accept money in excess of congressional appropriations "violates a law prohibiting federal agencies from accepting money in excess of congressional appropriations." I guess we'll never know!

34 people killed in 50 days. Their guilt or innocence unknown, for an alleged crime that doesn't carry a death sentence. That's a lot of death.
