To spell it out more clearly:

It’s not that the Black person need not provide evidence of claims or racism.

It’s that *you* think you get to judge whether that is racist, that is racist.

It's funny that Hegseth calls himself "Secretary of War" and the admin talks about the "Department of War" when that's just... an unofficial rebrand. Congress never changed it. He's the Secretary of Defense, legally. They're just doing a bit. They changed the website to war dot gov and everything.

In an unusual move, a group calling itself “National Alliance of Retired and Active-Duty FBI Special Agents and Analysts” has released a report for Congress critiquing the leadership of FBI Director Patel and Deputy Director Bongino.

Now, as then, this is considered a War Crime.

In 1945, Commander Eck was tried, found guilty […]

1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

“…the most influential ramifications of the name change might lie in what it seems to signal about the sort of behavior that the department will tolerate or even endorse among the rank-and-file. Hegseth has previously defended U.S. service members accused of war crimes.”

A crucial point here
Trump and Hegseth's "Department of War" rebranding is more than just a name. It signals their vision of a force that disdains legality, as if whoever commits the most war crimes wins.

But as new research by @doncasler.bsky.social and @robertralston.bsky.social shows, the change is very unpopular,
Most Americans oppose the ’Department of War’ rebranding
Even 42% of Republicans are no fans of the change.
