A reminder to everyone less than thrilled with the quality of choices made in #returntosilenthill

Jacob's Ladder

was a primary visual and thematic influence on Silent Hill 2 and it is not subtle.

The way every successful show being produced by #amazonprime has a massive greek chorus of fans singing mournfully about how an otherwise beautiful story is being hand strangled to death by the limitations of the 8 1hr episode season structure

Ngl I've completely lost trust in everyone's ability to withstand groupthink.

I'm living like an actual lost episode creepypasta right now trying to find evidence online of the existence of this 1 shot #blairwitch comic that totally succeeded in making a believable "found document" folklore experience that suspends disbelief just as well as the film does.

God the #marblehornets following is so small compared to 2014. What a weird experience to go backwards in scale like that so dramatically. Like we ourselves following this are also basically a new alternate timeline in terms of audience.

Gonna be real watching the new #marblehornets I didn't even get alternate timeline impressions at first because it just kinda makes sense that people could be revived and memories completely erased and remade within the unreality already established in this situation.

The schools was throwing out, so I acquired this weird bit of in between technology.

A circa 2009 Sony camcorder that records digital standard def video either on a mini dvd or a flash memory stick.

Still works well but the mini-dvd seem hilariously inconvenient 30 minutes per disc.

This is extremely cool. GOG is taking a stand against payment processors caving to fundamentalist religious groups and is offering a bunch of "banned" games for free.

I cannot overstate the importance of reading books, particularly novels by respected authors, for critical thinking skills and reading comprehension. If the big gun novelists don't interest you, start small and work your way up. Or read whatever interests you. Just read. Or listen. It's all books.

Growing up right alongside all the growing pains of digital data and seeing how easily corrupted it is, I've always been extremely uneasy about digital storage personally, ESPECIALLY cloud storage. There's a whole two decades of the internet that basically only exists on waybackmachine, man.
It's really dystopian to see how digitizing everything, which was supposed to keep records safe, is instead being used to quickly purge information. We should have known I guess, but cripes.

I've always suspected Blue Velvet but could never find a primary source to confirm it. RIP a legend 😞
Some Lynchs films inspired Silent Hill 2. When we were building the outline of the story, there was an idea that 2 or 3 guys were the main protagonists like Lost Highway's story. Also, as you know, Blue Velvet inspired the cut scene "Pyramid Head abusing 2 Mannequins".

David Lynch R.I.P 🙏

Yknow ever since I was a kid I always had this feeling we were going to have to weather some truly horrific disaster be it a natural disaster or war (tbf, literally my first clear memory is the 2nd plane crashing live on 9/11), I just didn't think it'd come with a pandemic of absolute stupidity.

I love this conversation about the likelihood of coastal city populations migrating to Chicago, as if it isn't only a matter of time before our tornadoes, floods (we're literally built on a swamp), and extreme heat and cold escalate to disasters of the same caliber as everywhere else.
