Get a grip. We're still in the first quarter.
If you have kids and grandkids you only get to see during the holidays, you will remember what the break in the war gave you this season.
"the work goes on, the cause endures, and the hope still lives."

non sequitur
Without the subsidies, many people will simply not be able to afford health insurance, making the risk pool even smaller; those who KNOW they will need it will buy it even without subsidies, guaranteeing the costs will rise even more for those who still have it.

The CR expires at the end of January, so it's not TOO long a wait before they can start again.

Day 293 - Trump swore numerous times that within 1 year of his inauguration, gas (and all other energy) prices would be cut in half. So, here's your daily reminder that gasoline prices are still not below $1.55/gallon as he promised.
He also promised he'd end Russia/Ukraine war in ONE day.
Nope.

Current lump sum before taxes is $415 million. Lump sum or not, AFTER taxes depends on what state you live in.
To get the full $900+ million, you'd have to take it as a 30 year annuity, which would be $30+Million per year... on that you would have to pay $11+ million per year in federal taxes.

Note, the cost of a Mega Millions ticket went up to $5 back in April... it's no longer optional to buy the multiplier; a random multiplier from 1-5 is assigned to each set of numbers when the ticket is generated, even when you pick all 6 numbers. The multiplier only applies to non-jackpot winnings.

Medicare For All is the only option that makes sense. Everyone pays 5% of salary for health care coverage, and their employers kick in 5% of every employees' pay. So-called "insurance" companies will be OUT of the health care business. 1 set of billing codes; 1 place to submit; 1 payer to providers.
