I've been asked why I now always put "Republican" in quotes. It's because I view the "Republican" Party since 1968 (beginning of Nixon era) as leaning harder into fascism. The last decent Republican President was Eisenhower, who warned us of "wars of opportunity" by the military industrial complex.

As every aspect of the USA that is, or was, "great" swirls down the drain, We the People only have ourselves to thank. By voting for "Project 2025" fascists who want to destroy our Constitutional democratic republic & implement fascism, OR by NOT voting, we did this. Get serious or all good is gone.

I almost laugh when talking heads muse about what could have been done with the money Trump has wasted. They don't get that he's doing what all fascist dictators do: destroying everything valuable about a country to replace it all with a gold-painted facade of "greatness" only for a dictator's ego.

A responsible government would require tech billionaires & corporations to build solar farms at their expense to supply ALL electricity needed for the massive consumption of their AI data centers. And all consumer electricity would be very cheap if we build a truly distributed grid with renewables.

What makes the Trump Shitshow much more dangerous than typical "Republican" administrations is not just the malevolence it encourages Americans to have toward each other, but the fact that it intentionally stripped experts from every department while staffing them with the most incompetent people.
