I could've sworn that this lot now in charge said they were going to address the main concerns about corrupt privatised utilities, the cost of living crisis and the dearth of affordable housing. I don't remember this sickening demonisation of immigrants and refugees being a thing. Fuck all of them.

Nothing like the weird underwhelming feeling of a successful software deployment. Last attempt rolled back after 4 hours of hacking. This one, 30 mins plain sailing. Feel almost cheated.

I keep picking up Tom Paxton records really cheap, and it seems the farther from his heyday, the better the record. Deeply unfashionable stuff, but I don't care.

All this fuss about Torvill and Dean's last performance of Bolero takes me right back to 84. I was only 8 or 9, but I remember this moment of national unity and excitement. The first real such moment, the first time I recall a massive occasion and not giving a shit. And 41 years on, I still don't.
