I once swatted a fly off Harrison Ford. Many years later I saw him on a plane, dozing in first class as I walked past to sit with the rabble. I did not wake him up to remind him of the fly-swatting incident.

I would be ashamed not to stand up for trans folks, not just because there are trans folks I like and love, but because everyone should get to live with the same personal freedom and dignity I get simply for existing. Who are we if we do not wish for others every right and privilege we have.
Thank you for being a straight cis man with some amount of fame and platform who pushes back on that sort of thing. Marginalization usually only changes when people NOT in the marginalized group start to push back on the hate and move the Overton window.

So yes—Occam’s Razor might suggest that the resemblance isn’t coincidental. It could be the result of shared ideological roots: a belief in domination over due process, and a willingness to bend or break rules to enforce that worldview. To treat people less than human and allow fear to fester.

Legal limbo: Many detainees are held without timely judicial review, echoing the kind of extrajudicial punishment that January 6 participants seemed to advocate for in their rejection of democratic norms.

Detainee deaths and solitary confinement: ICE facilities have seen a surge in deaths and punitive isolation, especially for vulnerable populations. These aren’t just policy failures—they’re signals of a system that prioritizes control over care.

• 🧊 Oversight gutted: Under Kristi Noem’s leadership, ICE oversight offices were dismantled, leaving detainees vulnerable and accountability thin. That erosion of checks and balances is eerily familiar to the anti-democratic impulses of the Capitol attackers.

Here’s what strengthens that parallel to Ocham’s Razor: 🚨 Courthouse arrests: ICE agents have resumed detaining people inside courthouses, often without warrants, targeting those seeking legal protection. This tactic mirrors the disregard for institutional boundaries seen on January 6.

When we apply ocham’s razor to ICE’s conduct—warrantless arrests, lack of identification, and public aggression—the simplest explanation might be that these behaviors reflect a deeper ideological shift, one that echoes the January 6 ethos of unchecked authority and performative dominance.

Dear Democratic Members of Congress,

Stop telling me about what he's doing. We can all see it.

Start telling me about what you're doing to stop it!
