I am not a religious person, but I am praying for Jamaica (and Cuba). Seeing this hurricane about to hit them (in late October, nonetheless) is horrifying. I have not vetted all the charities in the article, but they have good advice for avoiding scams.

In all of the uncertainty and difficulty in this world right now, the thing I crave most for comfort and a sense of normalcy is meaningful human connection. Sadly, it seems most people are hunkering down and trying to survive this inside their shell. We have to come together in times like these.
