Cowards.
Just like the now-pointless American networks.
NEWS --> BBC confirms to me that they did edit a line out of historian @rutgerbregman.com's speech. It called Trump "the most openly corrupt president in US history."

BBC also confirms this was done on the advice of lawyers. So Trump's threats worked.

Trump’s Fury at BBC Gets Unnerving Results with Pro-MAGA Edit Stunner
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

When Cathy quits teaching in "The Big C," she packs up her classroom and leaves with one box. One box! There's not a single teacher I know who could pack up all their stuff from their classroom in just one box.

I. Can't. Stand. Adam.
Did the writers think that's just how teenagers are? Because I've known a few thousand teenagers in my life, many going through similar or worse situations, and he's way shittier than most.

This may be my favorite Bluesky thread so far.
Why grant anonymity to someone who is lying to you with the company line? This adds nothing but misinformation to the story and the person quoted isn't going to get in trouble for saying it.

Here's a free link to the New Yorker piece by Tatiana Schlossberg. Harrowing. I can't imagine how it feels to be dying of cancer while a family member sets out to destroy healthcare. She addresses that. archive.ph/d6AQl

My parents gave me money for my birthday, and I used it to buy a Chromebook. I've always had laptops that use Windows, so was a tad nervous about setup. SO EASY... because I have an Android phone and Google account. Don't know if it's better, but it's easier.

There’s a moment in the classic film “Paths of Glory” in which an artillery officer, told to commit a war crime, asks for the order in writing.

That is happening right now, in real life, among US troops in the Carribbean.

Except in the movie, the demand kept the crime from happening.

Whoa...I did not expect to wake up to whatever the hell is going on in this timeline. Flashbacks to the time people were taking turns on the computer at a colleague's party to read the Ken Starr transcripts. There are some things I do NOT want to know.

hassle induced by someone else's shame is still something one can work with!
Important to understand that shame has no power over these people, because they feel no shame over doing things like promoting Nazism, but sufficient "noise" in the form of media attention and complaints from embarrassed Republicans can have some effect on policy.
